sanjosemike ::: Favorites I agree. Martha has an absolutely amazing technique, but that is not necessarily an excuse to rush things. This has happened in her other performances (Prokofief Sonata #7). Rach3 is a very intricate, beautiful masterpiece for the piano, and I think she did it GREAT justice! She gave me a newfound appreciation for the piano. Animefreak76 ::: Favorites And reidiojed, even if the long cadenza was written for those unable to play the short, it still has a very emotional and thunderous sound that is just great. And Berman could play the short if he desired, I think he just treasures the long cadenza like I do. Animefreak76 ::: Favorites I agree with both of you. I also love the Lazar Berman version of the Rach 3. The quality of his playing and the recording itself are wonderful. BUT, upon hearing Argerich's playing of the short cadenza, I now adore both recordings. kubicam ::: Favorites I haven't heard too many recordings of Rach 3...but this was amazing. I really like Nakamatsu's interpretation, but I'll have to add this to my favourties list!
