There are some people do things like cut themselves for the hell of it, and act depressed because they feel they aren't interesting if they're happy. But there are peopole who do need some help for depression. But actually only a small percentage need intensive treatment like drugs and such. But as far as artists go, most just have the ability to tap into their emotions and get songs from there.
