bananabis420 ::: Favorites 2007-12-13 14:05:28 youre absolutely right. 1.8t + BOV = fucking ghey. ive seen A4s and jettas that run like shit now because the dumbass owners wanted that stupid ass SSQV sound; exhaust fumes are awful, cant pass emissions with that shit, constant CEL, and otherwise, its actually increasing turbo lag by "blowing off" atmospherically, as opposed to just being recirculted. you can't win with a BOV on your 1.8t. __________________________________________________
alexk1532 ::: Favorites 2007-12-08 18:48:38 nice bov man cool sound __________________________________________________
mik3yp ::: Favorites 2007-12-07 15:48:45 and a forge splitter is a diverter valve with an atmospheric dump. It recirculates about 30 percent of the air back into the intake side to compensate for the VAG, and then the other 70 percent gets released into the air like a normal bov would. __________________________________________________
mik3yp ::: Favorites 2007-12-07 15:47:08 and there are no real negatives to a bov... but on cars with VAG you cannot put them on there. It will cause your car to run rich because of bad Air to fuel ratio and soon there after cause your car to run in limp mode which makes the PSI drop to about 6lbs. __________________________________________________
mik3yp ::: Favorites 2007-12-07 15:45:10 I get what you're saying... but what you're not understanding is that the aftermarket diverter valve dumps charge-air back into the intake system. Its a recirculating valve which causes no air to be forced back towards the turbo. You know how your engine sucks air in from your intake? Thats where the dv dumps the excess charge-air... no harm done there __________________________________________________
martintrdla ::: Favorites 2007-12-07 05:47:45 There at the top are the things that I know, not only think.... btw you haven´t said any negative point for BOV, so I´m waiting... __________________________________________________
martintrdla ::: Favorites 2007-12-07 05:45:52 I´ve listened many opinions on this problem, but in fact without BOV when you throttle back, turbo is still going and pressure is cumulate before throttle valve which is in this moment closed and thanks to this pressure you brake and overheate turbo. This is the main reason for BOV-open loop which this pressure blow off to the atmosphere so then after gear up you cannot have turbo-hole and acceleration is better (if BOV is well-regulated) and mainly -turbo isn´t overheated, understand? __________________________________________________
martintrdla ::: Favorites 2007-12-07 05:44:31 where´s difference between BOV and Forge Splitter?? I have never heard about Forge Splitter, may thanks to a language barrier... __________________________________________________
mik3yp ::: Favorites 2007-12-07 04:29:34 So please martinrdla.. do us all a favor and spare us with what you "think" you know =] __________________________________________________
mik3yp ::: Favorites 2007-12-07 04:29:21 Anyways the point is you can't put a bov on vw's without having problems. Period. If you have one now and you say you've never had a problem with it.. just wait... and it will come. Some people have driven months without problems and then your car goes into limp mode and there goes all your fun. Any other turbo car and your fine. =] VW's have all this air to fuel ratio crap that just doesnt like atmospheric bov's. If you want a cool sound without harming your engine get the Forge Splitter. __________________________________________________
mik3yp ::: Favorites 2007-12-07 04:28:44 man oh man... can you do some research before you pull shit out of your ass... First of all diverter valves recirculate the excess pressure back into the intake side and no that does not slow down your turbine. __________________________________________________
martintrdla ::: Favorites 2007-11-29 17:19:12 your comments are bullshits, BOV cannot hurt turboengine ... DV(which by production is engineered on 1,8T)only return pressure of air back to a turbocharger, BOV means blow off so when hose(into a turbocharger) is closed (because of false air intake) it moreover saves your turbocharger - engine(but only gas engine)... __________________________________________________
sbramle2 ::: Favorites 2007-11-27 16:12:32 BOV without recirc kit on a 1.8T stock is probably a bad idea. __________________________________________________
SonyForLife ::: Favorites 2007-11-23 17:31:17 dude that's hot. __________________________________________________
