Ha ha. That was funny. I'm a casual comic book reader and find most comics too expensive. I wish comic book publishers would print 2 editions of a title- the "collector's" edition w/ high quality / glossy paper meant for the bag & board and a lower-quality newsprint edition. Now that I'm old- I'm really more about reading comics than collecting. Or make'em available for download for 1/2 the price.

Description:

One of the coolest things about being a Jesuit is that we have the opportunity to travel all over the world. This summer I spent five weeks living in Peru - it is there that I acquired this flute. It's actually pretty hard to play, so the less-than-crisp style of playing is hopeful understandable. I bought it in the city of Cuzco and it was hand-made just for me! If nothing else, it is very pretty to look at. You can read about my adventures in Peru (June and July in the archives) at: www.ryandunssj.blogspot.com

Do you know if that whistle has a name? I bought some sort of wooden whistle/flute from Peru when I was in San Antonio last year. It doesn't sound much like this and has a strange fingering or is out of tune (it was $5, it's likely to have problems)

Sorry to say but, yes, they can. Mine was probably made so cheaply that it's off-key. I've noticed a tiny hole or two in it so that's probably why.

Wow! I put in the search terms "comic books" and "Neal Adams" and found this! Thanks and I had no idea about all of that new stuff. I returned to comics when a bud gave me a tip about Alan Moore (a master wordsmith) and loved comics all over again. His work on the Warpsmiths of Hod are gems! BTW, I created a slideshow of Neal Adams' work (this makes my second time, but I lost my first account) and will post it as a response if you're willing. Thank you!

Yeah, I know people don't like the echo. But I had to edit out the sound of a jackhammer tearing up concrete and, after the editing process, it sounded a bit lacking. Hence the reverb in order to fill out the sound.

Description:

http://ryandunssj.blogspot.com/2007/03/roddy-mccorley.html Before I head off on Spring Break, I thought I'd put up a few beginner tunes. This is Roddy McCorley, the first tune I learned as a kid. I play it three times: the first two times through the tunes I play it completely without ornamentation. The third time through the tune I put a few cuts and hits in and I offer a subtle variation on last part of the tune.

I've watched a bunch of your videos, you're just so good at it! Thank you for posting them. I've seen you play at least 4 different whistles. It would be cool if you tagged your clips w/the whistle that you're playing.

Spider-Man 3 wasn't very good, I was really dissapointed, that one guy in the store was absolutely right, too many villians

I really liked Spiderman 3, though I think that Spiderman 2 was the strongest of the three films.

Great stuff man, keep putting out the tunes and doing our Lord's work. My archbishop is a Jesuit here in Halifax NS, but unfortunately he doesn't play the tinwhistle.

Thank you for the lessons. I am learning a lot. What I find challenging about this piece is the combination of A-B-Cnat-A at measure 9 to 10.

In previous post, I meant from B-Cnat-A-G. I forget to lift L3 going from Cnat to A and then forget to place it back down for G!
