Description:
http://ryandunssj.blogspot.com/2007/03/roddy-mccorley.html Before I head off on Spring Break, I thought I'd put up a few beginner tunes. This is Roddy McCorley, the first tune I learned as a kid. I play it three times: the first two times through the tunes I play it completely without ornamentation. The third time through the tune I put a few cuts and hits in and I offer a subtle variation on last part of the tune. |

chade2112 ::: Favorites It's been a while -- good to see you back. :) are these tunes your students have picked to learn? 07-03-10 15:35:18 _____________________________________________________
RyanDunsSJ ::: Favorites Yeah - we've been focusing on "Silver Spear" so I've not had to advance the videos at all. I picked them for the students as they were among my first tunes to learn. The "Fordham University" video (when edited) will introduce the tunes, and these are for practice. 07-03-10 17:25:57 _____________________________________________________
fieryjack74 ::: Favorites while i appreciate your playing these tunes with students in mind, like i commented on "boolavouge",these are songs about people fighting and dying for there rightfull land,i think this should shine thru in the playing. 07-03-12 18:04:51 _____________________________________________________

LukeKellylives ::: Favorites Thanks, this is great. I taught myself this song on my first day with a tin whistle (I don't take lessons...). But this video gave me some new ways to play it, thanks. Love to see The Kerry Recruit or Tramps and Hawkers up, if you could! 07-04-29 11:22:15 _____________________________________________________
