1938superman ::: Favorites I know what you're talking about. I'm sorry for those experiences you've had. There are people on all sides of this argument who are arrogant and come off as though the have all the answers. This is never true. 07-01-31 11:21:34 _____________________________________________________
1938superman ::: Favorites NOBODY has all the answers. And when these people run out of answers that's when it all falls apart. Because they've claimed to know everything and they don't. I'm a Christian, of a sort, and I am firm in my belief. But I don't know everything. I'll never claim to. 07-01-31 11:21:58 _____________________________________________________
1938superman ::: Favorites Don't get me wrong, I want to continue to learn for the rest of my life. But the moment someone thinks the they have all the answers is when they stop looking for them. I never want to stop looking. My beliefs are not purely Christian and I draw information from different philosophies across the board. I do not believe any religious text to be the inerrant word of God, though I do still see some value in them, and I don't really believe religions are accurately representative of God. 07-01-31 11:22:27 _____________________________________________________
1938superman ::: Favorites My ideas, beliefs, and knowledge are perpetually evolving and they will continue to do so as I continue to wonder and learn about this thing we call life. That's my perspective. Well, part of it at least. I want to thank you for your comment and for taking the time to write it. Have a good day. :-) 07-01-31 11:22:57 _____________________________________________________
Camera0Girl ::: Favorites well, you could start with the scientific method, make a hypothesis, prove or disprove it. pick any of god's "cause and effect" laws out of the bible. then gather the evidence. for example, the blasphemy challenge. prove to me with hard, measurable evidence that someone's soul was damned to hell after denying the holy spirit. or, prove to me that god has forgiven someone for sinning. 07-01-31 21:31:58 _____________________________________________________
1938superman ::: Favorites I never made that argument. That wasn't the question. I'm not interested in proving anything to you. Nor do I have any reason to. No more the you may have reason to prove the non-existence of God to me. Both of which are equally impossible to do. 07-02-01 00:08:48 _____________________________________________________
Camera0Girl ::: Favorites you're not interested, or you can't? please, refer us athiests to someone who can, because we'd really enjoy seeing some real measurable, repeatable proof. interested parties, please see the youtube titled "The best optical illusion in the world!" 07-02-04 18:17:08 _____________________________________________________
Camera0Girl ::: Favorites don't want to prove it or can't prove it? please, we athiests are really looking for some proof, not senseless back/forth arguing. proving there is no god is easy. for those interested, please see "The best optical illusion in the world!" on youtube. for you to say prooving and disproving are both impossible, that's a bratty cop-out. 07-02-04 18:29:18 _____________________________________________________
HarryTimson ::: Favorites this is a response especially for the cameragirl. what exactly is your problem? i mean, the position of this superman guy is the best you can have between those fundamental christians and fundamental atheist, like Dawkins and a bunch of others. religion was an evolutionary act, you can't wipe it out. it was useful, cause people who believed in something had better chances for survival. and not everything in science can be proved with scientific methods: look at the string theory. 07-02-07 15:41:41 _____________________________________________________
airste172 ::: Favorites Whether I view someone as less, equal or above me, it has little if anything to do with the specific opinion that a person has. It has mostly to do with how they arrived at their conclusion and how well and straightforwardly they can answer my questions. 07-04-14 23:28:05 _____________________________________________________ |
